Termite Inspection and Control
Termites are social insects which feed on wood and other materials containing cellulose, including paper. They are found in every state and we have several species that are a problem here in South Florida. It has been estimated that termites cause more damage to homes than storms and fires combined, costing U.S. property owners $5 billion each year. Losses would be much greater without the skilled efforts of professional pest control operators such as Vulcan Pest Control.
In our area we not only have to deal with subterranean termites but also have drywood termite colonies.

A Constant Threat to Your Home
Termites won’t be going away anytime soon. These destructive pests have been around for over 250 million years, and they’re able to adapt to a wide variety of environments.
It’s not uncommon to have multiple termite colonies in the soil around your home at any given time, with hundreds of thousands of termites in each colony.
Your home may look great on the outside but what’s going on in the wood behind your walls? Termites are able to go undetected as they feed on the wood in your house, and because they feed out of sight, can cause major structural problems to your home before they’re even discovered. With a program designed specifically for your construction type, species, and preference we can rid your home of destructive termites and keep them from coming back in the future.
There are many situations where the conventional soil barrier treatment with residual termiticides is either ineffective or inappropriate. For instance, one species of subterranean termite, the Formosan termite, has the ability to survive without a good ground connection, provided there is an above-ground source of water such as a leaking roof or plumbing leaks.
Drywood termites are even more independent of the soil. This is because they are able to utilize naturally-occurring moisture in wood even when there is no moisture problem in the structure. In many cases, infestations of drywood termites start when winged sexual forms (alates or swarmers) alight on the roof or walls of structures and enter through crevices and start a colony which may be far above the soil.
Our exclusive termite management service is your first line of defense to protect your home from termites. Our technicians are specially trained to diagnose between the different species of termites present in our area, and are experienced in the latest methods of control.
Whichever control methods we recommend from tenting to soil barriers or baiting programs you can bet that we will be around until the problem is solved.

Termidor Soil Treatment For Subterranean Termites
Termidor is Vulcan Pest Control’s choice when choosing chemical barriers for subterranean termite control. It has been extensively tested and proven to provide 100% control of termites in 3 months or less.
Here Are Six Good Reasons Why We Use Termidor:
- It is one of the most tested termite control products on the market.
- It has proved 100% effective in all soil types, and against different species of termites.
- It has provided unmatched protection on homes in the USA, Australia, Japan, and France.
- It doesn’t leach or move from the treated site. Termidor works in a different fashion from other termite barriers which are repellents to termites.
- In other termiticides, termites keep trying to find gaps in the barrier to gain entry into the building.
- With Termidor, termites can forage through treated areas and be unaware that they are contacting the termiticide. Termites will gather it on their bodies and transfer it when they return to the colony.
Termidor lasts more than twice as long as some other termite control treatments. Instead of just exterminating the visible termites, it also kills off termite colonies and therefore offers better value for your money.
Termatrac Termite Detection
Comprising of a Termite Detection Radar, Remote Thermal Sensor, and Moisture Sensor, the Termatrac T3i is the most advanced device in the world developed purely to detect, confirm and track the presence of termites. It allows termite inspections and treatments to be completed more accurately.
Termatrac Features Include:
- A Remote Thermal Sensor With Laser Guide to detect potential termite risk areas via heat differentials.
- A Moisture Meter to identify moisture levels conducive to termite risk areas via the concentrated presence of high levels of moisture.
- The Termite Detection Radar to accurately detect and confirm the presence of termites
Advance Termite Baiting System For Subterranean Termite Prevention
The Advance Termite Baiting System uses a three step process to protect your property from subterranean termite invasions:
- Detection of termites
- Elimination of termite colonies
- Prevention against re-infestation through regular monitoring for new termite activity.
We’ll install termite monitoring stations complete with a termite monitoring base and a termite inspection cartridge around the exterior of your home. We will inspect the stations regularly for signs of termite activity. When the stations show signs of current termite activity, we’ll replace the inspection cartridge with a bait cartridge that dispenses bait throughout the colony. Termites will consume the bait and bring it back to their colony to share with nest mates. This will cause a gradual decline in termite numbers on your property, ultimately eliminating any active termite colonies.
