Structural Fumigation
Structural fumigation, also known as tenting, is the most effective way of eliminating all drywood termite colonies in your home once evidence indicates that termite infestations are going into inaccessible areas or the colony is mature enough to have swarmed. The fumigant we use, Vikane, has decades of proven history. It has been used to fumigate residences, commercial buildings, government buildings, and historic structures. At Vulcan Pest Control, we choose Vikane because of its ability to reach termites and other pests where traditional pesticides can’t. Structural fumigation is a multi-day process which is strictly regulated by the Florida Department of Agriculture.

Fumigation is the best way to eradicate pests such as drywood termites, bed bugs, and wood boring insects from your home completely. There are various termite control methods, but fumigation is a more effective method particularly for widespread infestations.
Our licensed inspectors will only recommend structural fumigation when required. Although there are other localized treatment options that can be used to control drywood termite infestations, once significant activity is found or the colony has swarmed, fumigation will be the most effective way of treating the problem. Localized treatments often fail where there is a heavy infestation.
Vikane works by penetrating the structure to kill termites, bed bugs, and wood boring pests through suffocation. After fumigation, Vikane leaves no residue material behind. Vulcan Pest Control provides a 1-year warranty on structural fumigations and offers maintenance contracts on our termite work. Call today to schedule your free inspection!
