Termite Inspection & Control
Termites eat wood, and can consequently cause great structural damage
to your home if left unchecked. A typical homeowner's insurance policy does not cover destruction caused by termites,
even though they cause over 1 billion dollars in damage to homes throughout the United States each year. Our inspection and
treatment program can help you understand the threat of termites, and take the necessary steps to protect your home.
Termite Inspection You can’t assume your home is termite-free just because you’ve never
seen them – they only swarm once or twice a year, and you might miss it! We thoroughly inspect your home or business,
looking for the tell-tale signs of termite infestation. Some of the things we look for are:
- Mud tubes built for traveling above ground
- Damaged
or hollow-sounding wood
- Pinholes in drywall or wallpaper
- Small piles of sawdust
- Piles of small wings
- Other specific termite indicators
A Constant Threat to Your Home
Termite won’t
be going away anytime soon. These destructive pests have been around for over 250 million years, and they’re able to
adapt to a wide variety of environments.
It’s not uncommon to have multiple termite colonies in the soil
around your home at any given time, with hundreds of thousands of termites in each colony.
Your home may look great
on the outside but what’s going on in the wood behind your walls. Causing damage costing billions each year; termites
are able to go undetected as they feed on the wood in your house. Because they feed out of sight, they can cause major structural
problems to your home before their even discovered.
That’s where Vulcan Pest Control can help. With
a program designed specifically for your construction type, species and preferences we can rid your home of destructive termites
and keep them from coming back in the future.
Our
termite programs include: - Termidor soil treatment
for an existing infestation
- The Advance Termite Baiting System
as a preventive program, and
- The No-Tent service for Drywood
Termites
Termidor soil treatment for subterranean termites Termidor is Vulcan Pest Control’s choice when choosing chemical barriers
for subterranean termite control. It has been extensively tested, and in test after test it has provided 100% control of termites
in 3 months or less. Six Good reasons why we use
Termidor:
- It is one of the most tested termite control products on the market.
- It has proved 100% effective in all soil types, and against different species of termites
- It has provided unmatched protection on homes in the USA, Australia, Japan and
France.
- It doesn't leach or move from the treated
site. Termidor works in a different fashion from other termite barriers which are repellents to termites.
- In other termiticides, termites keep trying to find gaps in the barrier to gain
entry into the building.
- With Termidor termites can
forage through treated areas and be unaware that they are contacting the termiticide and will gather it on their bodies and
transfer it when they return to the colony.
Termidor
lasts more than twice as long as some other termite control treatments as well as killing off termite’s colonies and
therefore better value for money
Advance Termite Baiting System for subterranean
termites The Advance Termite Baiting System uses a three step process to protect your property from subterranean
termite invasions, including detection of termites, elimination of termite colonies, and prevention against reinfestation
through regular monitoring for new termite activity. We’ll install termite monitoring stations complete with a termite
monitoring base and a termite inspection cartridge around the exterior of your home. We will inspect the stations regularly
for signs of termite activity. When the stations show signs of current termite activity, we’ll replace the inspection
cartridge with a bait cartridge that dispenses bait throughout the
colony.
Termites will consume the bait and bring it back to their colony to share with nest mates.
This
will cause a gradual decline in termite numbers on your property, ultimately eliminating any active termite colonies.
No-Tent Drywood Termite
Service Bora-Care® Whole House Treatment kills existing Drywood Termites and protects your home from
future infestations.
Any homeowner who has had to fumigate a home knows what a difficult procedure it is. The family
must move out along with all the pets and plants-even the goldfish has to go.
All food must be double wrapped
in plastic bags. The power and utilities must be shut off
And
then the entire house must be covered with giant tarps as a toxic chemical is pumped into the home. The process can take several
days and cost thousands of dollars.
While this difficult procedure will kill the termites, it does not prevent
them from coming back – even in the same year. And in an area like south Florida with heavy Drywood Termite pressure,
it is not a question of if the home will get infested, but when.
A Better Solution Now
you can solve this problem once and for all with the Vulcan Pest Control Whole House Drywood Termite Treatment with Bora-Care®
and Termidor. Bora-Care® is an EPA-registered termiticide and fungicide that is sprayed onto wood. The active ingredient
in Bora-Care® is borate (remember 20 Mule Team Borax®?) This mineral salt is less toxic than table salt to humans,
pets, birds and fish (when comparing toxicity levels in a laboratory setting), yet it is deadly to insect pests. And because
it is a mineral salt, it will not break down over time. When Bora-Care® is sprayed on the wood, it’s patented formula
penetrates deep into the wood and remains there for the life of the wood, providing residual protectiom.

that it’s easy to confuse termites with ants. Fortunately, there are features that distinguish them.
